FAQS
WHAT SHOULD WE EXPECT WHEN WE ARRIVE ON THE FIRST DAY OF CAMP?
Upon arrival at your designated drop-off location, close to the Hangar’s entrance, you will be greeted by our staff who will do a check-in for both you and your child. Your child will receive a Human Moves Backpack and two personalized camp t-shirts (which they are to wear daily). Following check-in, campers will gather at the main field for supervised free-flow activities with fellow campers and counselors’ and other staff, followed by camp-led icebreakers and fun activities.
WHAT DOES MY CHILD NEED TO BRING TO CAMP?
Each camper needs to bring a water bottle, lunch, morning and afternoon snack (If they are not part of the Meal Plan), active clothing, hat & sunscreen (if needed), bathing suit and a towel (4-7 year olds for Frank's Swim School and 4-13 year olds for Splash Pad). We also suggest packing warm clothing (weather depending).
The use of any electronic devices during camp hours is not permitted.
IF MY CHILD IS ON MEDICATION, WHAT DO I NEED TO PROVIDE TO THE CAMP?
A medical authorization form must be filled out at the time of registration. Medication should be brought on the first day of camp and given to our staff supervisor at check-in. We can administer oral medications during camp hours as per your instructions.
Should your child require an Epi-Pen, we ask that they carry their own at all times. In addition, please provide us with a second one to be held in our office in case of emergency. It will be returned to you on your child's last day of camp.
IS THE CAMP NUT-FREE?
NO, IT IS NOT. As we are located within a public facility, the camp is not nut free. We strongly discourage our camp families from packing nut products in consideration of any campers who may have allergies. If your child has nut allergies please ensure that their medical form outlines their allergies. Also, be sure to introduce your child to the supervisor at your drop-off on their first day of camp.
DO YOU OFFER MEAL PLAN?
We no longer offer a meal plan but this may change next year.
WHAT IS THE STUDENT TO STAFF RATIO?
We pride ourselves on the camp’s quality of programming and as such, strive to maintain a ratio of 4:1. This ratio may vary depending upon the session, programming, and age group. Our low ratios allow staff members to get to know each camper well to ensure camper safety and achievement of optimal potential.
MY CHILD IS SHY; WILL THEY MAKE FRIENDS AND BE INCLUDED?
Absolutely! Inclusion is a priority! Our trained staff will help your child adjust and ease into any program in which they may choose to participate. All activities in the camp encourage and emphasize inclusivity and teamwork.
HOW WILL THE CAMPERS GET TO THE SPECIAL ACTIVITIES AT CEDARVALE LOCATION AND FRANK’S SWIM SCHOOL?
We will be bussing the campers to and from both Cedarvale Location and Frank’s Swim School.
